Default DisplayLink & VMWare Horizon client

After updating both VMWare Horizon & the displaylink drivers today, the DL-connected monitor shuts down as soon as Horizon actually connects to a remote VM. I can hear the sound that windows usually makes when you disconnect a USB peripheral. When I log out from the remote system, the DL monitor comes back on. Is this a known issue? Is a workaround available?

Based on your description, you may want to investigate if USB redirection is turned on within the VMware Horizon client for the DisplayLink device. If it is, the VM may be 'grabbing' the device from the host operating system when remote VM starts up. Documentation of the feature is here --> https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Ho...BCA6941E2.html

That sounds about right -- any ideas on how to turn this off? This used to work just a few weeks ago, and USB drive access is way less important than having the displaylink box work.

The link I provided previously to the VMware documentation should be able to point you in the right direction in terms of adjusting the USB redirection settings.

Default VMWare issue on Mac 12.1- no displays come through

I'm having a similar issue. Mac Monterey 12.1 with M1 Pro. Dell docking station 3100.

Using the current DLM 1.6, i'm able to run all monitors properly in Mac OS just fine.

But as soon as i run VMWare 5.5.3, no video shows. Works fine when I connect Mac to one monitor on USB-C directly.

Reading through the PDF you pointed to has not clarified it at all. @ emilianoheyns were you able to fix your end?

Thanks!
