Windows 10 recent update, display no longer works
Hi,
So my Windows 10 laptop recently went through an update and the end result is my docking station no longer working with my second monitor. My mouse and keyboard (wireless, connected via USB) still work, but the display is no longer detected. I noticed that in Device Manger, I now see under Display Adapters and adapter called "LAPDOCK". I don't recall that being there before, but it may have been. It goes away when I unplug the docking station USB cable and comes back when I plug in. So it's recognizing a "display adapter" at some level, but isn't allowing me to use it. Any help? Attached are my logs. Is DisplayLink software installed correctly? Yes Is the DisplayLink service running? Yes Does the USB device appear in device manager? Yes, as LAPDOCK I believe Has the USB device booted correctly? Unsure what this means Do you have the latest graphics driver installed? Yes Do you have the latest USB 3.0 host controller driver installed? Yes After checking the above have you attached the log files? All logs posted in the forum are only able to be downloaded by DisplayLink employees. Attached |

Hello Chris,
Thank you for the details and the logs, this is helpful. I can see the Windows USB driver returns Error 0xc000000e (STATUS_NO_SUCH_DEVICE). There's a collection of it at different stage, this tells me the device connection drops. This is confirmed by the firmware logs reporting USB disconnects events. That's why you don't see displays appearing. Ethernet might also go up/down. The mouse and keyboards are probably USB 2.0 only. I would recommend first swapping the USB cable and computer port being used. Then, you could force everything down to USB 2.0 by using a USB 2.0 cable as, from what I can see from HP website, this computer doesn't have a USB 2.0 port. You could also contact the manufacturer for hardware support. From the files, I am unable to determine the branded name as it uses a generic configuration. If you send me a photo of the device label or the box, I would be able to find the name. Kind regards, Alban

Thanks for the quick reply.
These logs are with me trying with a USB 2.0 cable. It didn't work with either, in any of the USB ports on the machine. Attached is a photo of the box of the device. If this is entirely on the device manufacturer, are there any details you can give me to give them when I contact their support? Anything other than what you already told me? |

Thank you Chris,
Wavlink email address is contact@wavlink.com. I would explain that the device keeps disconnecting from the USB. Kind regards, Alban
