Default Need to test a DisplayLink external touch screen in macOS Sierra

I need to test a DisplayLink-enabled touch monitor, a Lenovo ThinkVision LT1423, in the new version of the mac operating system, macOS Sierra. Specifically I'll be working with its touch capabilities.

When this monitor is connected via USB and fully activated, it will report several different USB devices, including a DisplayLink device and a touch device. However, the touch device does not become active (and is not seen by the host operating system) until the DisplayLink device is fully activated. So if the DisplayLink driver is not installed and working, it's not possible for me to work with the touch device.

Is it advisable for me to install the current DisplayLink driver in macOS Sierra? If not, will there be an in-progress or beta DisplayLink driver I could use? I don't need it to be stable, I just need it to work long enough for me to test out the touch device.

Hi Brian,

We've tested Sierra and all seems to be like El Capitan with very few differences.
Performance is not great but this is normal for developer previews.
Don't try picture in picture, the Window Server will crash. We've been told this is going to be fixed in the next Sierra release.
Apart from that we haven't seen major (new) issues yet.

Cheers,
Carlo
