Default MacOS freezes when connecting D6000 dock

Hi!

I have a Dell D6000 dock which I connect to my MacBook Pro 2021 (M1). From time to time the OS freezes a bit when connecting the USB-C.

What freezes is: in the system preferences I can not access the "sound" section. When changing the sound output from the system bar in the top the sound also gets blocked, and can Spotify or other apps that produce sound start getting blocked. Also, an app to manage screen brightness (ControlMonitor) gets non-responsive.

In the dock, I have an HDMI, a DP, ethernet, power, a USB hub from one monitor and a 3.5mm jack.

The only way I can get it to work properly is to disconnect the HDMI before connecting the dock to the laptop, and some seconds after connecting it, then connect the HDMI to the dock again. In this order, I have no issue at all.

I have used the support tool for MacOS which sends data to DisplayLink org, but still wanted to post here in case this is somehow known, or if it happens to anybody else.

Best regards,
Francisco Robles

Update after contacting support. I thought the software would auto-update, but it does not. I am using MacOS Ventura 13.1 but I was still using DisplayLink Manager 1.6, which is not compatible.

I have just updated to 1.8, and for now, everything looks fine.
