Question Having connection Issues

I just installed displaylink on Windows 7, the CD installed okay but the TV that is connected will only display the wallpaper, doesn't show icons. I have bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse but there is no way to use the computer without the icons. I have re-installed and nothing works. I have tried other USB ports also nothing. I am not a computer wiz by any means but would love it if someone can help with this. thanks ...

Many TVs clip the edge of the screen. You have an option with two screens, either extend of duplicate. You should find an icon in the system tray (on the bottom right), which should have an option 'Fit to TV', this allows you to configure the active area of the screen to be slightly smaller so that the icons show up.

Alternatively, many TVs allow a mode which doesn't clip - some Samsung TVs do this automatically if you just call that input 'PC' when assigning names to the inputs.
