Windows 10 - iGPU and Discrete GPU for indirect displays
Hello,
I bought the device in the title to plug in with my laptop so i could add an additional monitor for a total of 2 external monitors. I noticed that when plugged into this device the monitor does not use the hardware graphics card. I have read a bunch of posts on here about this but no definitive work around or solution (I didn't find one). Is there a way to correct this? I am running WIN 10 Pro 1803 with the latest DisplayLink Drivers 8.5 Thanks for the help, Juan |

Hello,
Can you explain what you mean by not using the graphics card? These devices are not GPUs. The GPU is used by Windows to compute graphics is all cases. Kind regards, Alban

I mean when connected to the laptop via the display link adapter the laptop does not use the graphics card for graphics it is using the intel integrated graphics.

Hello,
Both integrated and discrete are real GPUs. Currently, for indirect displays Windows will use the graphics card used for POST. There is a potential change in upcoming Windows versions, in the meantime the solution is to use the discrete GPU for POST. Regards, Alban
