OpenGL window freeze
Hi to all forum members.
I use a DL-165 (Delock 61787) on Windows XP SP3. DisplayLink driver R5.6M1 and R6.0M0, also original Delock driver on CD. But any OpenGL application windows freeze, when i moved it to the screen which is connected to the DL-165. I test it on three pc with nVidia, one pc with AMD/ATI and a nVidia notebook. No other Software is installed. The problem exists on all tested demos and applications ! Normal windows DirectX application are ok. Only one older IBM Notebook with a Intel (OpenGL 1.x) graphic is functionally with a simple OpenGL 1.x demo. You can see a Demo of the problem at: Spheres Demo on YouTube Any idea ? Thanks.... micha_he |

OpenGL is not fully supported on XP and DisplayLink does not have any hardware acceleration on XP. This is covered in our FAQ here, which refers to screensavers, but any OpenGL application will have issues on XP:

I've done another test on an IBM ThinkCentre with a nVidia GeForce 7900GS.
Under WinXP SP3 the error (i reported at Post #1) appears. On the same system, installed with Windows 7 Enterprise, is the OpenGL-Animation on the DL-165 adapter slow, but it works ! Unfortunately, the device useless for us, because we are using Windows XP SP3 on all systems. What a Shame ! |
