Arrow All screens going black on Big Sur?

Ever since I upgraded to Big Sur anytime I leave from my keyboard for a period of time and all my displays go black. The only way to fix this is by disconnecting my MacBook from my docking station, reconnecting it and banging on my keyboard.

Any idea what could be causing this? I'm on dual monitors.

I get something very similar.

I plug 3 monitors into my external displaylink graphic card, and ever since I upgraded to Big Sur I have the following issues:
- works normally well right after reboot
- after a while I get some overall sluggishness (often in conjunction with a Zoom/Meet screen share)
- eventually two of my screens turn black and I can no longer hover my mouse over them.
- at that point, the driver seems to have essentially crashed / gone in an infitite loop
- If I kill the driver and start the driver from scratch, my mac returns more or less in the state its in after a reboot.

I waited until Big Sur 11.3 before upgrading, precisely to avoid these kind of issues... subsequently upgraded to 11.4 but it didn't help.

I am using the latest version of the DisplayLink driver (1.40, build 57.120)
