high sierra no video

Hello. Hope some one can help.
I originally had Sierra installed on my imac 2011 with my model WL-UG17D1 plugged in to my 2.0 usb port. The device was usable on my 22 in monitor however there was some lag and videos were unwatchable. I mostly just had my email and discord chat program on it.

i tried to install the newest drivers will no fix. Latter I decided it was time to upgrade my mac os to high sierra partially in the hope the issue would fix but also to get the newest os this unit could have on it.
After the update. I noticed the extender didn't work and had no video. The lcd has a blue light on the power button meaning it is detecting something and not going to sleep. I completely uninstalled the drivers and downloaded the newest I could find for this os and installed. I rebooted and tested and still have no video just a black screen. In the settings the device doesn't show at all. I unplugged and replugged the cables and made sure everything was tight and tried a different usb port. still no video.
