Default Serious Windows 10 Issues! DisplayLink v7.9

I've been having serious issues with my windows 10 clean installation.

Apparently DisplayLink's software (v7.9) is interfering with every single windows 10 app, including Windows store, calculator, calendar, photos, videos, etc.

Every app will simply not work if I have displaylink's software installed. Each app will simply close and not open.

Is anyone else having this issue? I went through several system restores and trial and errors to narrow down the issue to DisplayLink's software.

Hi,

Can you confirm that after installing DisplayLink software, connecting your device and then rebooting (even if you are not prompted to do so) do you still have this issue?

Please run through the first section of this FAQ:
http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...lation-upgrade and try running those apps again.

If you still have this issue please attach the output from this tool:
http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...rticles/533818

Lastly are there any error messages when this issue occurs?

Thanks
James

Are you running this on a machine with Nvidia Optimus (both Intel and Nvidia graphics)?

Hey James, thank you for responding.

I can absolutely confirm that DisplayLink is the cause of my issue. I followed the steps in the link you've provided and ended up with the same result.

Uninstalling DisplayLink software seems to be the only way to fix the issue.

Here is the output from the Support Tool you've provided.

Similar Setup (g46VW with optimus) my laptop only supports 3 screens without a DP hub (too much money...) so I use a USB video adapter to get my 4th screen. The nvidia card gets disabled when the display link drivers are installed the device manager says "the device has reported problems". Uninstalling the display link drivers fixes it. It must have something to do with the DirectX version, I wonder if Windows' new multi GPU support doesn't like seeing a DirectX10 device and a x12 device on the same system?

The last sentence is what the point of my post.. Anything GPU accelerated such as the windows 10 apps will fail to run,
