Default Display not detected in Windows 7

Hi everybody. I'm hoping somebody can help me get Displaylink to detect my monitor. I have a Dell XPS L521X running Windows 7 Home Premium with a Dynadock docking station connected to a Viewsonic monitor. It worked fine for several years, until last week. Windows Update tried to update my Displaylink software, but the installation failed, then the docking station stopped working completely. Reinstalling the software was unexpectedly difficult because of compatibility problems with the USB drivers (which had never been an issue before), but after many uninstallations and reinstallations of various versions of multiple drivers, I finally got it mostly working. Audio and USB ports on the docking station are fine now, but it won't detect the display. I've followed the troubleshooting instructions as best I can, but no luck. This is driving me nuts.

I'm attaching the log file. If anybody has any suggestions, I'd be most grateful. Thank you.

Hello,

For the USB warning. We know certain USB host controller drivers are buggy, and if not updated, then we know it is likely to offer issues: if the pipe is broken, all functions are affected.

Looking at your logs, the driver is running but the docking station does not see any display connected. It doesn't read any monitor identification, even in error.
I don't believe the issue is on the computer side, or the connection between the dock and computer but more on the monitor link side.
We usually save the monitor details to disk (*.edid) and I see none, so since you've installed, I don't expect any display to have been read.

Do you have an alternative cable or monitor to try on?

Kind regards,
Alban
