Default No tray icon after installation with USB32DVIPRO

I just received a USB32DVIPRO External Video Card.
I installed the DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Windows v 7.0 M3.

After the install steps it disappears.

A tray icon never appears.

DisplayLinkManager is running in Services

Device Manager under USB Display Adapters has 2 items:
Name:
DisplayLink Display Adapter (4300)

Hardware Ids:
USB\VID_17E9&PID_4300&REV_0236&MI_01
USB\VID_17E9&PID_4300&MI_01

and

Name:
USB32DVIPRO

Hardware Ids:
USB\VID_17E9&PID_4300&REV_0236&MI_00
USB\VID_17E9&PID_4300&MI_00

When I plug in the device Windows tries to install the driver and fails.

It also does the following:

Blue screens my computer when I reboot and I have to go to "Last Known Good Hardware Configuration"

When installing or plugging it in I get a message that says the Desktop Manager has crashed.

Seeing as it's been a week since I posted my question and have not received a response, I guess I'm returning this product.

Hi,

Can you try removing the adapter, uninstalling the software, reinstalling the software and then reconnecting the adapter?

Thanks,
James

I seem to have this same problem on Windows 8. Any suggestions?

Thanks
