Default Mac Pro no longer boots under 10.15 with Asus MB169B+ as primary monitor

Hi There,

Since installing Mac OS 10.15 and installing the latest Asus Mac drivers on my Mac Pro (trash can), it won't boot using the Asus MB169B+ as the only/primary monitor.

It works as a secondary monitor but when I travel for work, I use the Asus as the only monitor.

How do I get the Mac Pro booting with the Asus MB169B+ as the only monitor - this all worked great under 10.14.

I desperately need this when travelling for work.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello,

So you are closing your laptop lid and want to use just the USB monitor?
When your computer starts and you can see the desktop the monitor starts working but it is not displaying anything when booting the computer?

Thanks for the reply,

Firstly, it's not a laptop it's a Mac Pro so it doesn't have a screen of its own.

Under 10.14 while travelling, the Mac Pro would work with the Asus USB monitor only - no other display.

But now when I boot after installing 10.15 and new Asus drivers (which uses DisplayLink) nothing comes up - I initially see the Asus logo but then black. I've left the Mac Pro booting for over 10mins which is plenty of time for it to boot-up but the screen never works.

The Asus screen works as a secondary display when the Mac Pro is connected to a normal monitor but not when it's the only screen connected (like it used to).

How do I use the Asus USB monitor as the only monitor with a Mac Pro under Mac OSX 10.15?

I hope that makes more sense.

OK, so after restarting and testing a few more times, the DisplayLink Software asked be to install another driver which I did.

So now when I restart using only the Asus USB Monitor, I do see the login screen.

But after logging in, the screen is blank. Does anyone know how to fix this?
