Default Workaround for DisplayLink problems

¡Hola!

I'm running an late 2013 MBP w. 10.9.1. I have 1 external display on a thunderbolt and 1 on a usb display link device.
I'm also using TotalSpaces for spaces control since I like having the spaces as 2x3 grid (i.e. 2 rows, 3 columns). This seemed to be working fine but then I started getting window server crashes, being logged out.
As you can imagine this wreaked havoc with my workflow.
After a while I started to notice a pattern. Going down, from one spaces row to the other or up would cause crashes but only if I had had some heavy Safari usage. After a while I turned to Chrome as browser as an alternative and the problem went away. Now I've been using Chrome for a week without a crash!
Note that YMMV but it worked for me at least.

But I would like a fix since I don't like Chrome.
