Default Window Contents Distortion

I have come across a weird issue when resizing windows on a USB monitor using the DisplayLink drivers.

It seems the contents of a window stretches and resizes when changing the size of the window and this causes the actual contents of the window to extend further to the right than the boundaries of the window itself.

So you actually lose a thin slice of the entire right edge of the window content.

Also text becomes quite distorted. I've attached an example of this.

It also doesn't happen to all apps. The following programs exhibit the behaviour (there may be others):

Firefox
Parallels
JumpDesktop

I'm using V2 of the DisplayLink Drivers on Mountain Lion.

Can anyone else confirm the issue?

Just a guess, but disabling hardware/GPU acceleration in affected applications might help.

Default Disabling Hardware/GPU?

How does one go about disabling the Hardware/GPU acceleration for specific applications (especially if they don't come with the option in a settings panel?)?

hi kitesurf-

unfortunately, as far as i know, you don't.

i've looked extensively for a way to do this in safari with no success- i managed to keep it from rendering anything, but couldn't force it to render only using CPU instead of GPU even after enabling special debug options via command line.

if anyone knows of a way to do this i'd love to hear about it.

best-

jeff
