Disconnect/reconnect issue on OS X Yosemite 10.10.1

I'm experiencing an issue similar to http://www.displaylink.com/support/mac_downloads.php on OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.

Device: Lenovo ThinkVision LT1421WD

Most common steps to reproduce:

1) Press Ctrl-Shift-Power to black out the display.
2) Wait a short while. I just tried it now and a few seconds was enough to reproduce a minor version of the behavior. I usually have it off for a half hour or so, though.

Expected behavior upon pressing a key to reactivate the screen: DisplayLink monitor comes on around the same time as main monitor.

Most common actual behavior: DisplayLink monitor remains off or comes on and off repeatedly. Disconnecting and reconnecting the monitor cable makes it stabilize eventually (it still tends to go on and off several times before "stabilizing").
