Default DisplayLink Manager Desktop Icon

I am a first time poster and a long time DisplayLink user.

I use a MIMO 7 inch monitor along with a VGA monitor running from an HP laptop as a navigation and timing aid in a Corvette I use for racing events. The laptop is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64. The VGA monitor runs at a resolution of 1280X1024 24. The maximum refresh rate is 60 Hz. It all works very well.

Well it works well until I close the laptop lid. When the lid closes, the monitor configuration changes. The DisplayLink driven monitor is now the second monitor. The results after the the lid closure are not always the same and require some manual intervention to make the displays come out correctly.

I have tried all the options available in Windows 7 and explored registry mods without success.

I usually have to open the Display Manger icon in systray to get the desktop to re-extend. This can be a problem immediately before a 160 mph race.

Is there any way to create a DisplayLink Manager desktop icon?

Is there any DisplayLink command line scripts that can be called to extend the desktop?

Thank you
