Dear all,
I am using a DisplayLink dock station with an external monitor, connected to my DELL latitude laptop running Ubuntu 20.04. The external display works fine at first, but frequent freezes happen, resulting from a Xorg crash and a "GPU hang" (according to dmesg output). When this happens, all graphics are unresponsive, even though I can still see my mouse pointer move. As a result, I have to log into a tty session in order to restart my display manager, thus losing all my opened graphical applications. This happens most frequently when the computer is doing (reasonably) intense work, such as a system backup or a zoom conference call. Is this kind of problem known for my Ubuntu version? Is there a fix? You will find attached a debug output from DLSupportTool, ran right after such a freeze. Thanks a lot for your help Last edited by SunriseJackpot; 04-26-2021 at 06:03 PM. |
