The recent automatic install of the newest DisplayLink driver for Windows 7 64-bit through Windows Update has killed my ability to display on the ASUS MB168B+.
I have removed the two DisplayLink items through Programs and Features, and uninstalled and reinstalled the ASUS-supplied drivers to no avail... Any further suggestions? ![]() TAGS: not working, does not display, black screen Last edited by onix; 09-04-2015 at 09:43 PM. Reason: Tags |

My Asus mb168b+ didn't stop working but it shows colors inversed after installing the update (Win 7 pro 64 bit). Sometimes the problem goes temporarily away for a few seconds but then starts again.
I already updated both the usb 3.0 drivers (Renesas through the DisplayLink Support page) and the Display adapter drivers (Nvidia Quadro 2000M) on my HP EliteBook 8560w but that didn't help. The attached image shows the problem. The blue part is the real background color and it is where I opened the context menu with the right mouse button. Even that doesn't happen all the time. If I take a capture of the screen the colors are correct in the image. If I look at the jpg below from the Asus the colours are inversed-inversed so it looks right ![]() Last edited by rad5; 03-16-2015 at 01:35 PM. |

Can you run through the following steps? 1. Disconnect your Asus MB168+ monitor 2. Uninstall any Asus or DisplayLink supplied drivers for your Asus MB168+ 3. Run the cleaner tool from http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=297 4. Install the latest DisplayLink 7.7 M4 driver 5. Reboot 6. Connect your Asus MB168+ monitor Thanks, James |

Along with not finding the driver, on Device Manager, the MB168B comes up under Other Devices, with ! at the bottom right corner of its icon.

Hi James,
Thanks for trying to help. I'm attaching a screenshot. Basically your suggestion did not work; it did not find the driver. FWIW, the Hardware ID is USB\VID_17E9&PID_FF03&REV_0165 I have both an Asus MB168B and an MB168B+. Neither come up at all. Quote:

Oh wow, I did not realize the screenshot upload would covert to such a crappy quality. I'll compress to zip and then you can see more clearly.

Anything?
Perhaps there is some file I need to delete in C:\Windows that cannot be overwritten... Thoughts? I gave the ASUS to somebody else, and they were able to get it to work plug-and-play, automatic driver download from Windows. |
