Question Windows Update updated DisplayLink BUT???

HP Pavilion Laptop running Windows 7 Pro attached to a Targus ACP71USZ.
Today, I received along with 28 Windows patches a DisplayLink Driver Update. It installed fine, but I did get a warning in the tray that indicated a Device Driver failed to update. After re-booting, all seemed to be OK, BUT, I noticed that only the DisplayLink Core Software was updated to 7.9.296. The DisplayLink Graphics Software remained unchanged at 7.7.60373. Is this a concern? Everything does seem to be working and there are no flags in Device Manager. Would it be OK to download the latest software from DisplayLink and install on top of what I have??

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Only the DisplayLink Core Software (which is the important bit) is updated when you download from Windows Update.

Thanks,
James

Thanks James for the quick reply. So when should I get concerned about the graphics updates? Should I not worry about that at all?

Hi,

Yes, no need to worry about that.

Thanks,
