Default Performance under 10.12.6?

Wondering if anyone can report experiences with DisplayLink and macOS 10.12.6? I haven't seen anything here or on the web about this.

I'm currently on 10.12.5 and wondering if I should upgrade. Experiencing some issues currently (windows on DisplayLink-connected monitor will frequently go blank when not active, until I resize or otherwise cause the app to update the window contents). Hoping that 10.12.6 may have fixed this problem, or at least not made anything worse.

My setup: DisplayLink driver v 3.1, 2015 MacBook Air, Warpia SWP800 DisplayLink adapter (USB to DVI).

Thanks, Justin

Hi Justin,

In our tests 10.12.6 behaves exactly as 10.12.5, which unfortunately means that the issues introduced in 10.12.4 are still there.
Given the major (and mostly positive) changes in 10.13 I think it's unlikely Apple will change much in further 10.12.x releases unfortunately.

Best regards,
Carlo

Thanks, Carlo!

FYI, for others out there, also received this email from someone else at DisplayLink:

Hi Justin,

Thanks for your enqiry,

If your setup is working well, i would hold off updating where possible. Some users have experienced issues when using 10.12.6 .

There is a driver architecture change when macOS 10.13 comes out along with DisplayLink 4.0 software.

Kind regards,
James

Hi Justin,

Yes I had a chat with James, he still did not know the results of the tests on 10.12.6. Unfortunately since 10.12.4 the user experience for anyone with a discrete graphics card is appalling. This includes me!

Thank you for letting me know.

I'm still att 10.12.3, but I have a Macbook Pro 2012 12" with just the HD-graphics card. Is it safe to upgrade, or should I wait for the 10.13 update? The external display is crucial for my work.

Firefox and Royal TSX is not working under 10.12.6.
Safari works.
WeChat is not working as well.
