Default 4K display compatibility on Mac?

Wondering if products with the DL-5000 and DL-6000 series DisplayLink chipsets are compatible with Macs, and if they can output satisfactorily from Macs to 4K displays (assuming High Sierra and the 4.0.0 DL driver).

The DL product pages for those chipsets indicate macOS is supported, but some of the OEM products with these chipsets on Amazon indicate that Macs are not supported.

An added question: what are the minimum Mac hardware specifications for these chipsets to drive 4K displays? I can only find 4K hardware specs for Windows on the DL site.

Thanks!
