Default Windows 10 and error Code 31

I’m having issues when I try to install my Dell USB displaylink Dock on my new Dell Latitude 7390 laptop. On my previous 7290 everything work correctly. On this new ones I’m not able to have the correct video card installed. Into manage device I’ve 4 instance of DisplayLink usb device all with yellow mark inside and with the error code 31 “windows is not able to load needed drivers. “.

I read a lot of posts and search a lot over the internet and I saw other people have the same error. I tried to install drivers with Antivirus (SEP) disabled, I tried to install drivers without antivirus (every test has been performed after clean the previous installation with clenaing tool). At this point I don’t have other option to test. We purchased, also, a Manhattan USB 3.0 to DisplayPort (that use dispaly link drivers) to see if the hardware has some incompatiblity with the laptop but the resutl is the same. Error Code 31.

Here attached the full logs.

Default ESET AV findings

I have had problems since a a recent Windoze update - continuous on/off switching of external monitor from one of my laptops.Am using latest 9.2 Alpha or whatever. I found that if I disable ESET AV before plugging in USB monitor, waiting for a few seconds for monitor to be discovered/work, then re-enable my AV part of ESET (I do not need to disable Firewall part), the monitor has no further issues.

I have also noticed permissions errors in the event log for COM with the latest DisplayLink drivers.

I do not have this issue on my work laptop (which did need an upgrade to 9.1 post Windoze updates), however my work laptop uses a different AV.

Default Fixed using ESET

FYI:

Installed the latest version 9.2 M0 and had the same problem.

Left displaylink SW installed.
Uninstalled ESET
Reboot
Reinstalled ESET
Reboot

Problem no longer occurs

Has there been a solution to the code 31 error in your case? I'm having the same issue, thanks!
