MacOS Sequoia Permissions Issue Fix
From reddit and Apple:
Applications utilizing deprecated APIs for content capture such as CGDisplayStream & CGWindowListCreateImage can trigger system alerts indicating they might be able to collect detailed information about the user. Developers need to migrate to ScreenCaptureKit and SCContentSharingPicker. (120910350) Every time I start my computer in the morning/after a reboot, I have to take it off the dock and interact with this pop-up asking if I want to continue allowing sharing permissions before my monitor can show anything but a lit black screen. Looks like a (relatively) simple fix for the devs. |

Oh yeah, I agree lol. I only mean "simple" in terms of an already-diagnosed issue; I don't even want to think about how obnoxious/complex it could be to actually switch over to the new way of coding things.

Hello,
This new recurrent permission request is not linked to which API is being used. On Sequoia, we already use ScreenCaptureKit. This permission is linked with using video capture regardless of the API (CGDisplayStream or ScreenCaptureKit). It used to only appear once. But like if you use Zoom or OBS now, it happens after each reboot. We raised this with the OS vendor, but feel welcome to also raise it to them. Regards, Alban

Yes, it’s very annoying. One of my external monitors is set as my main display and the warning pops up on the monitor, which is not allowed to display the screen. I have to unplug the dock to get the warning to display on the laptop itself, then allow, then re-plug the dock.
