Default 2560x1440 on 4K monitor missing

I have a Dell D6000 which is based on Displaylink DL-6xxx. My monitor is Acer B286HK which is a 4K monitor. I have a Macbook running High Sierra 10.13.3 with Displaylink driver 4.0.0.85514.0.

When I connect the monitor using the D6000, it displays in 4K@60Hz without issue, but the fonts are too small. Ideally I would like it to be at 2560x1440 mode but when I go to System Preferences>Display>Alt-click Scaled, the next highest resolution from 4K is 2048x1152, there's no other choices in between.

I know the monitor can do 2560x1440 since if I connect the monitor directly to Thunderbold port, by passing Displaylink I can scale to that which is the optimal resolution I need. How do I get 2560x1440 to work with Displaylink?

Hello,

The thread has been created in Sep/Oct 2018 and since then there were multiple SW updates delivered which addressed many problems end users were reporting.

Could you please make sure you have the latest driver available and your macOS is up to date as well?

Regards,
Szymon

I've connected my Eizo EV3237 to a Dell D-6000 Docking Station and a Mac running macOS 10.14.3 and DisplayLink version 5.0.1
DisplayLink drivers are installed and working.
But my preferred Resolution is not offered in the Monitor System Prefs Pane: 3008 x 1692 is not offered, not even when I alt-click the scaling settings as described in one of your knowledge base articles.
SwitchResX also does not help.
And I know that the display supports this resolution: When I connect the display directly to the Mac via an USB-C -> MiniDisplayPort Adapter, I can select this resolution and it looks great.
And here are the vendor specs:
https://www.eizoglobal.com/support/c...s_x/index.html

When will you support all the resolutions that the display supports ?
And thanks for you fast answer.

I am now running into this issue after updating to driver version 5.1. Not even 1920x1080 shows in the resolution list when using the option key.

@Szymon: Any updates on this issue? 5.1 still does not offer the resolutions that my display supports.

Hi Kolt,

Any chance you could post logs captured by the support tool? We'd like to see the EDID of that monitor to understand what's going on.

Cheers,
Michal
