Default DisplayLink 7.9 M4 not really compatible with Intel HD Graphics 530

Hello

We just got new Fujitsu Q956 Clients with Intel HD Graphics 530, and wanted to install them with Philips screens with DisplayLink in our emergency unit. Unfortunately we experienced the following issue:

-In the screensettings menue of Windows, we not only get to see the philips screen, even though there is no other screen attached. There is also a Standard non PnP-screen, which is by default set as the primary screen. So if we want to use the DisplayLink screen, we have to set it manually as the primary screen, and choose the setting "show desktop only on screen 2". We never had these issue on our older clients (for example Fujitsu Q920 or Q910).

The OS we are using is Windows 7 Pro 32-Bit (German).

Is DisplayLink aware of these issues and will there be a fix soon? Otherwise there will be a lot of work for us, reinstalling older clients.

Best regards

Matthias

Hello Matthias,

Would you please be able to get us some logs?

The primary screen is not something decided by our drivers but by Windows.
If another screen is reported by the primary graphics card, this is normal that Windows uses it as primary screens and this is in no way a bug in our drivers.

We might be able to find a way to change the default behaviour for you.
The log files will tell me more about the hardware. Please collect them before you set to only show on the DL screens so I can see what Windows "see".

Kind regards,
Alban

These: How can I report Windows issues to DisplayLink?

How many units are you seeing this new behaviour on?
Can you confirm the monitor is wrongly detected without DisplayLink software installed?
