Default Trouble to install DisplayLink USB Device

Hi guys,

I just bought a i-tec dockingstation and tried to install the current DisplayLink 7.8 software. The installer starts but hangs on the third step "First Connection". I plugged the usb cable of the dockingstation into my notebook, but nothing happens. It looks like somehow I can't install the DisplayLink USB device driver because if I plug in a external hdd drive into my docking station, I can access that drive! So I think the usb cable to the DisplayLink USB device is fine (dockingstation). Can somebody give me a hint, what I should look for?

I also attached the support files with more information. I'd be very happy if somebody could help me.

Hi,

Can you try disabling the Nvidia GPU prior to installing the DisplayLink software?

Thanks,
James
