Default Speakers not working from audio jack

Hello,

I have the DisplayLink USB 3.0 docking station, and a new laptop with Windows 8.1. I downloaded and installed the Version 7.5 software, and my mouse, keyboard, and monitor work fine. However, I can't get my speakers to work when plugged into the audio jack on the dock. I get no sound, and when I try and test the speakers through windows, it says 'Failed to Play Test Tone'. Everything seems to be installed properly as 'usb audio' and windows says everything is working fine, but I'm starting to get frustrated. When I plug the speakers directly into the jack on the computer, they work fine. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
