Default USB Keeps Dropping

My client has a UGA-125 and I'm trying to get it working on XP Pro. When he plugs it in, it is recognized as a USB device but then drops it. This process just keeps repeating every 5 seconds or so until I unplug it.

It works on my 7 Pro computer, so I'm pretty sure the device is good.

Other devices work in the USB ports, so I'm pretty sure they are good.

I am using the 6.1 drivers from the web.

Any suggestions?

i have this issue with our USB-165. every so often a computer will just go on the fritz and drop and reconnect every 5 seconds or so. sometimes switching out the unit for the same model (but a different physical unit) fixes it, sometimes it doesn't. we have a terminal where one monitor is now out because we cannot resolve this issue.

Any solution/help would be nice.

When the device drops, does it still appear in device manager, or does it actually drop off the USB bus. Can you make sure that it is connected to a powered USB power (eg a powered USB hub) so it is getting enough power. This could be that the adapter is not quite getting enough power from the USB port.

Thanks

Wim
