I've got the same problem with a large number of Microsoft Surface Go 1 and 2s.

It has to be down to the displaylink software, as you can see the windows driver foundation task spiking when you shake a window round (yet the CPU usage is actually low according to task manager...i'm talking max 20%).

Running a monitor via USB C directly into the device works fine. The Surface doesn't have enough USB-C ports to run more than x1 screen directly in and a side from this issue the dock is a really hand bit of kit.

Our users are running a dual monitor setup (effectively three screens) so I can't get away from the dock/displaylink software and it even lags with just the one screen.

May 2022...anyone managed to resolve this problem?

I have a D6000 docking station with two ultrawide monitors connected. Just by connecting the dockstation to my notebook, the Windows Driver Foundation process starts consuming my CPU to the point of sometimes crashing my machine. Still no solution?
