Default Linux Mint 19 and Compiz

BVU5500H on a Dell Latitude E5450 running Mint 19.1 (Mate)Tessa 64bit

I've installed the ubuntu 18.04 evdi drivers (displaylink-driver-5.1.26.run) and the device is recognized and works great with the stock Marco + Compositing window manager.

Switch to Compiz and wild screen artifacts start happening. Closed windows are repainted, scrolled screens display the initial content then go back, screen 1 flickers when a window is moved on screen 2.... weird stuff like that.

What else can I provide to help get this working with Compiz window manager?

Thanks

Same. Using Ubuntu with mate...

Switch to Compiz... have issues on both 5.1 and 4.4 drivers. Switch back to Marco compositor... all is well.
