Lightbulb Minimizing Lag When Using Exposé?

Whenever I use Exposé my entire computer lags as it tries to redraw all the pixels on my DisplayLink’s monitor (1900x1200). This really annoying, as Exposé is really only useful when it’s near instant. If I lower the resolution of the monitor, the lag becomes less noticeable, but I’m not going to leave it like that.

Does anyone have any good tips for minimizing the effect? As far as I know, I can’t disable Exposé on a per-display basis.

Or, maybe I’m just expecting too much from 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo iMac.

Thumbs down

Yeah, I noticed that too and it's really annoying. Strange thing that moving windows away and revealing the desktop works instantly.

I'm using a rather small 1360 x 768 15" display with an EVGA UV Plus+ 12 adapter. Handling Expose shouldn't really be an issue for a 2 GHz Core 2 Duo in my Mac Mini running Snow leopard 10.6.2.

Hmm… Exposé Show Desktop has a noticeable lag for me, but it is less than a regular Exposé All Windows.
