Default Extended Display Nightmare - Please Help (WAVLINK thunderdock SP)

Hello,

This is the second docking station I bought from Amazon (UTD01) as reviews state it is compatible with MacOS 10.15.1. On the box, it says MacOSX but updated firmware on displayport and also adjusted privacy settings on extensions in system preferences.

I'm using a displayport adapter (passive) from docking station to my monitor and my macbookpro 2019 is not recognizing it at all.

I might be done with displaylink productd as I have to keep returning them. I really want this to work and desperate over here, especially when there is no technical support number to call.

Please help me! I'd greatly appreciate it and will venmo a donation for anyone who helps get this working.

The specifications for the dock you mentioned having purchased --> https://www.wavlink.com/en_us/product/UTD01_UTD01H.html do not indicate that this product uses DisplayLink technology in any way. As a result, DisplayLink will not be able to help and you should contact Wavlink for assistance.

That said, you mention having used a 'passive' adapter to convert the dock's built-in DisplayPort video output to some other standard. According to the manual for the dock --> https://www.wavlink.com/en_us/manual...1_Manuals.html an 'Active' adapter is required if the video output needs to be converted. To put that another way, 'passive' adapters will not work.
