Default NextGenReader crashes

On Win 8.1 Preview with the release candidate version of the DisplayLink drivers, NextGen Reader (a feedly/Google Reader client) immediately closes after showing the splash screen. I've confirmed this only starts happening with the most recent drivers loaded.

Repros on my Surface Pro and my Asus Zenbook. Support tool output attached.

The following apps also crash the same way: ReddHub, MetroTube, and News360.

There are likely more but I haven't tested.

Hi,

Thanks - to clarify this didn't happen with the release preview drivers?

Thanks,
James

Correct. This didn't happen with the preview drivers. I started with the RC drivers.

Hi,

Thanks for clarifying - I've raised this internally for further investigation.

In the meantime can you see if the Intel graphics driver v9.18.10.3214 from here http://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-21232 helps?

Also please check if there is a later version available via Windows Update.

Thanks,
James

Hi,

And all the same apps you've mentioned still crash?

Thanks,
James

Yes, same crash on same apps, and only with RC version of driver. I reverted to the preview and the apps launch. I'm prompted to update due to old driver but will stay here until we figure out what is going on.

Repros on two computers.

Default Same for me!

Hey James,

I've got similar behavior with a few Windows Store apps. The ones I've noticed so far are Logos Bible, Halo: Spartan Assault, Pinball FX 2, Star Wars Angry Birds, Angry Birds, and probably a few more. On all of these, the splash screen displays, then the app crashes back to the Start Screen. If I uninstall the Display Link driver, I'm good again.

I'm running Intel HD 4000 with the .3200 drivers. Do you want me to run the diagnostic tool, or are you guys already tracking this issue?
