Unhappy BYTECC DisplayLink and 1080p

Hello everyone.

I recently purchased a BYTECC USB3.0 dual monitor hub from Fry's which worked fine on the old monitor I had, which was a 1650x1020 resolution monitor. I purchased a Benq 1920x1080 monitor and cannot get the hub to send a signal to the monitor. The monitor works fine if I plug the HDMI or DVI directly into the computer, but when plugged through the hub, no signal. I have installed the DisplayLink v7.6 from the website, but it didn't help.

Does anyone have any hints on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Can you update to the latest DisplayLink software (7.7 M4)?

Thanks,

Looks like I already have 7.7.603xxx of the core and DisplayLink software installed. Any other thoughts?

Hi,

Does the Benq monitor work at lower resolutions when connected through the Bytecc dock?

Please attach the output from this tool:

Thanks,
James

James,

No, the new monitor doesn't work at any resolution. I backed the main monitor down to 800x600 then attached the dock and no luck.

Please find the output attached and thanks for the help.

Hi,

According to the logs the new monitor has not been detected.

Could you try the following?
- Different video cable?
- Different port on the dock?
- Different port on the monitor?

Thanks,
James

Yes. The dock and monitor both have HDMI and DVI and both have been tried with separate cables, not just a DVI/HDMI adapter on the same cable.

So the hub works with a different monitor, and the monitor works plugged into the laptop HDMI...what a fail!

I messed with it a little more, and for some reason, the monitor will work through the hub on the D-SUB monitor port on a VGA cable and a VGA - DVI adaptor to the hub. But if I switch to DVI - DVI, no signal.

Is the hub only for analog signals at 1920x1080? It did DVI - DVI at 1650x1020.
