MacBook Pro and USB "too much power" problems
Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) with the 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo. I purchased the BVU195 to run a third monitor. Currently, I have an extra monitor plugged in through a VGA adapter to the display port. I downloaded the beta of the software and tried using the BVU195 to connect a third monitor using the VGA adapter. As soon as I plug in the BVU195 to the Mac, I get the following warning: USB Devices Disabled. Unplug the device using too much power to re-enable USB devices. I tried uninstalling the software, and then installing the regular software...no luck. When I plug in the USB and get the warning, the picture on the VGA connected monitor through the display port starts flickering as well. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance. -Ian |

probably the only thing you could do is to run this via a powered external USB hub.

Yes this is all about power available. In this case the device exceeds the power available from the host. As mentioned by Ludacrispv and MAC you'll need a powered hub. Or a powered dock instead of the adapter.
