FLASHING SCREEN on Windows 8
Hi.
I have a laptop with Intel HD4000 and NVIDIA GT650M (optimus). When I plug in my DisplayLink USB cable, it seems like my laptop recognizes it, but after a few seconds all three screens go black, and the cursor starts to flash rapidly. Even after unplugging the adapter the flashing lasts for 10 minutes or more, and sometimes it never recovers. Any help would be appreciated. DisplayLink software version: v7.4.48853.0 Intel driver version: 9.17.10.2932 NVIDIA driver version: 9.13.13.2049 DisplayLink Product: Samsung Ubisync Monitor (SyncMaster LD190, 1360x768) Thanks in advance! gfpomfh Last edited by gfpomfh; 07-06-2013 at 05:02 AM. |

Hi!
My best advice to You: Return the monitor right away, if You have the possibility. I've tried to get help from DisplayLink (DL) since the release version of Windows 8, but they just ignore us with the Optimus chipset, as a working driver is yet to be released (if ever)! Obviously they don't have a clue what to do about the problem and apparently haven't any contact with either MS, nVidia or Intel about the troubles. Please prove me wrong DisplayLink! I bought it about five years ago so I can't return it.
Also it works without any problem when connected via D-SUB. Last edited by gfpomfh; 07-09-2013 at 05:21 AM. |

Is there a device that you guys recommend that works for multiple monitors? I've waited long enough. Thank you

If you have a desktop, I recommend using two or more graphics cards that support 3 or more monitors. And, if you're going to buy a laptop, buy one that has a Thunderbolt port.

I was able to run the diagnostics tool when I detached my HDMI monitor from my laptop. It flashed constantly, but at least the flashing speed was slower so I was able to push the button.
I attached the new diagnostics file. Hope it helps. |

Hi,
If you have the option to do so, please disable the Nvidia graphics in the BIOS. Thanks, James |
