I installed a DisplayLink enabled dock (Humanscale Mconnect) yesterday for a client. Loaded drivers and it worked perfectly. User took their Dell Windows 8 laptop home last night and somehow (Windows update perhaps) Trigger Graphics drivers were installed. Received a service call this am that dock was not working. Ran DL driver cleaner and this did not correct the problem.

System Compatibility check indicated USB display driver conflict.

Had to search for and manually remove the Trigger drivers and restart.. Problem solved.

Q: does DL cleaner only remove installations of DL drivers?

Do any other conflicting USB display drivers need to be manually searched

Thanks

Hello,

Yes, the cleaner doesn't remove third party components. That's not legal for us to decide to remove someone else's software.

On Windows 8, you will need to look for MCT=j5 and Fresco Logic USB graphics. They may have different names.
Here are FAQs on removing the elements that their installer sometimes leave behind:

This is because all three use similar ways of acquiring the pixels.
Drivers on Windows 10 v1607 (Anniv = Redstone) would not be affected as we use a new way of acquiring pixels.

Kind regards,
Alban

Hooray - this worked (using old AOC e1649Fwu), though I had to further download the updated 8.3M1 software after this.
