Dell E6530 - Monitors flashing randomly
1 Attachment(s)
We have multiple users who are experiencing this issue. They are all Dell Latitude E6530's with Windows 7 x64. We have updated the nVIDIA card driver to the latest Dell release (307.68) as well as the integrated Intel card driver (8.15.10.2712). We are currently running DisplayLink driver 7.2 M1, as well as several previous releases.
Users are using the laptop on a dock with the laptop open and display enabled. They also have one monitor hooked up to dock with DVI, and one monitor hooked up to dock with VGA. Third external monitor is hooked up using HP USB DisplayLink adapter. This gives them four functioning displays. Intermittently the DisplayLink connected monitor will flash off, which then causes all of the other monitors to re-adjust. This may only last a few seconds before the DisplayLink monitor comes back on and everything is back to normal. We also have Dell E6520's with the same setup but they do not seem to have the issue. Does anyone have any recommendations? |
Hi,
Do the Dell E6520's also have the ShoreTel software installed? Thanks, James |
Yes, they also have ShoreTel installed.

Any ideas?

Same issue
Hi,
We have the same issue with some user. While the laptop is connected to the station, and while working, the main screen (not the laptop screen) suddenly goes black "entering power safe mode". It comes back to normal after a while. Display Link driver : DisplayLink_7.3M1 Laptop: Dell XPS 13 - L322X Docking Station:sd3000v I'll run the tool "DisplayLink Support Tool.exe" and give the log file Monday, if you can fix this in the next release of the driver that will be great because we've a lot of user with this kind of docking station. Regards |

For this system can you try updating the graphics drivers to the latest from Intel & Nvidia? For the first system you sent the logs in for can you let me know if this happens on other USB ports on the system? Thanks, James |

Issue Previously Reported Here

BSOD is no longer an issue but the docks continuing to restart is. Given the number of posts I've read today with apparently the same issue across multiple vendors and platforms. In some cases disabling power management for USB HUB seems to resolve the issue, are you actively working on a permanent fix? |
Possible solution
It looks like the issue with the E6530's may have been resolved by updating the Intel USB 3.0 controller driver from Dell's site.
