Screen Blanking Problem Windows 8.1
 

I am using a Kensington SD3500V dual monitor dock with my Dell Inspiron 5547 laptop running 2 ViewSonic HD monitors. Everything is working fine but since I first set this up I have experienced periodic random screen blanking. Sometimes its just on one monitor and other times both go black simultaneously. This can occur several times per hour or less.

I have updated the DisplayLink driver software for using the Kensington dock to the latest (7.7.59503.0) as well as the Intel graphics driver software. I have also disabled any power setting that turns of the monitors. I have tried using both USB 3.0 jacks available on the laptop but no difference.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue?

The logs show USB connection errors.

Can you try connecting to another USB port on your notebook?

I tried the only two USB 3.0 ports on the computer. Same issue with each. I also tried the USB 2.0 port on the left side and it flickered as well. I checked for new USB drivers but did not find anything newer than the installed one (Microsoft ver. 6.3.9600.17031 - 2/21/2014) for the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller.
