Satechi Triple 4K + 3 LG Thunderbolt monitors + Macbook Pro M3 => only one monitor

I am running the following setup:

Hardware:
* Thunderbolt 4 Multi-display Docking Station (edited)
* Macbook Pro M3
* LG Ultrafine 5K monitor (thunderbolt)
* 2 x LG Ultrafine 4k monitor (thunderbolt)
* Monitors are connected to the docking station via thunderbolt cables

Software:
* Mac OS X 14.7
* DisplayLink 1.10.3

Result
1. DisplayLink software informs no DisplayLink-enabled display detected
2. Only one monitor works, if I unplug the working monitor, another monitor starts working

These monitors work flawlessly with my previous employer's M2 Max laptop.

I wonder if DisplayLink would work with multiple thunderbolt monitors, or if not, are there ways I can get them to work?

Thanks

The Satechi docking station you are using does NOT have any Thunderbolt ports. The dock has only two USB Type-C ports on the front. These ports are NOT compatible with Thunderbolt displays. This is why the displays are not working.

Thanks for the response! To clarify, I'm using a Thunderbolt 4 Multi-Display docking station with DisplayLink technology (not ST-D4KTM-EU, my apology). The USB-C ports on the dock are labeled with the Thunderbolt icon (lightning bolt), indicating they should be Thunderbolt ports.

Previously, using DisplayLink with an M1 MacBook Pro, I was able to drive 3 monitors via HDMI/DP through a single port. However, with this current setup, although I can connect and use two monitors through the Thunderbolt ports on the dock, I cannot get a third monitor to work. The DisplayLink software shows no DisplayLink-enabled devices, unlike when I connect via HDMI or DP, where the software properly detects and drives the monitors.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or can suggest a solution? Any help would be appreciated!

Was this resolved?

I'm having a similar issue where my SATECHI displaylink device (the official name is Thunderbolt 4 Docking Station with DisplayLink) used to work fine with an older mac, but now only shows 1 monitor with a macbook air with an M3 chip and OSX 15.6.1. The displaylink device is not being recognized by the latest displaylink software on the macbook air.

Did you ever figure out the problem?

Hi mvu,

Thunderbolt 4 Docking Station with DisplayLink has two HDMI outputs which are driven by DisplayLink chipset. Therefore only monitors connected to HDMI ports are recognised by DisplayLink Software.

Szymon
