Auto-dimming screen issue on mac
 

This started happening in the last several weeks.

- I usually set the screen to maximum brightness
- Though it's still dimmer than I'd like, if at maximum, it is very usable
- Recently, the screen will auto-dim itself to an unusable brightness
- If I slide around the DisplayLink Manager brightness slider, it'll brighten up the screen while sliding it around, but then it'll auto-dim as soon I stop using the slider
- I downloaded the most recent Mac app (Release: 13.0 | Jul 29, 2025) which I believe updates all the drivers as well?
- It seems to auto-dim depending on what's on screen. If it has a lot of dark areas, it dims, if it has a lot of bright areas, it brightens up

Ultimately, I don't want it to auto-dim. I just want it to stay at maximum brightness all the time.

It's quite unlikely DLM App to change brightness of your screen automatically. However, could you test version DLM App 1.11 which doesn't offer brightness & contrast control at all?
To test, please uninstall DLM App 13 first and then install DLM 1.11 from this link:
