UPDATE--
Rebooted desktop for a third time, and it shows up as Unknown Device. Collected logs again.

Using the Encore ENMUV-2 USB to DVI/VGA adapter....

Using the Encore ENMUV-2 USB to DVI/VGA adapter. Plugging directly into the desktop. No external power. Tried different USB ports on the desktop as well. Same result.
