Beta works with mac OS Mojave dev. beta
I am an Apple Developer and installed the first beta of macOS Mojave.
The current DL beta does support one external monitor as described for High Sierra.
At least the current workaround will...

10.13.5 Beta - 4.3 beta WORKS!
The "how to" instructions for 10.13.4 beta 3 DOES work for 10.13.5.

DisplayLink Option not present 10.13.5 beta
Followed the instructions with anticipation.
You should mention that WiFi needs to be enabled or the AirPlay option doesn't appear.
I see a number of AppleTVs listed (on a college campus), but...

Redraw jittery, sluggish
MacBook Pro (pre-TouchBar) - 10.13.4 Developer Beta
