I installed the 7.7 M3 version. Still the same behavior.
When I plugged in the USB port after the update, I got an Installing Drivers box.
- USB Composite installed OK
- DisplayLink Display Adapter installed OK (two copies)
- The DisplayLink USB Audio Adapter and Network Adapter NCM #4 failed.
When I looked at Device Manager immediately, those two failed drivers were displayed, but with a status of unable to start.
When I restarted my computer (with USB unplugged) then plugged in the USB, I saw the same behavior as before (worked for about 2 minutes, then shut down).
Device Manager now shows these drivers as installed and running
- Dell USB 3.0 Dock 7.7.59503.0
- Dell USB Audio (manufacturer DisplayLink) 7.7.58332
- Dell Gigabit Ethernet (manufacturer DisplayLink) 7.5.54496.4
