Hi lacyjpr,

Sorry for a long delay. Basically, in your setup there is a DisplayLink USB 2.0 device which does not require DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Ubuntu. The additional software is only required to support USB 3.0 devices.

In your case I would recommend to uninstall DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Ubuntu:

sudo ./displaylink-driver-1.0.138.run uninstall

Then make sure udl module is not blacklisted in the following file:
/etc/modpobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer.conf

and then test if your USB monitor works.
