I'm trying to connect an AOC e1649Fwu to my Samsung Series 5 laptop.
The best I can get is a garbled screen that behaves erratically. I'm running Ubuntu 14.04.2 Kernel 3.16.0-51-generic I've attached the DisplayLinkManager.log files as well as the output of dmesg. I've got nothing in var/crash. Thanks for any help you can offer! |

Hi lacyjpr,
Sorry for a long delay. Basically, in your setup there is a DisplayLink USB 2.0 device which does not require DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Ubuntu. The additional software is only required to support USB 3.0 devices. In your case I would recommend to uninstall DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Ubuntu: sudo ./displaylink-driver-1.0.138.run uninstall Then make sure udl module is not blacklisted in the following file: /etc/modpobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer.conf and then test if your USB monitor works. Regards, Szymon |
