Any help is greatly appreciated!
Previously, I'd had a perfectly functional setup as follows: Display 1 attached to VAVA hub via HDMI, hub to USB-C on laptop Display 2 attached directly to laptop, displayport to USB-C I received a new laptop (Macbook Air M2, Sequoia 15.0.1) from work and was suddenly only able to utilize one display at a time. I've tried every connection I can, including currently simply plugging each monitor directly to the USB-C ports. When attached separately, each monitor works regardless of what port is used or the manner of connection. Nothing besides the new laptop has changed. The displays are identical LG monitors, a few years old, that worked perfectly as dual extended displays previously. I've tried power cycling and the displaylink support tool, but it seems the monitors are no longer detected as displaylink devices...? Using DisplayLink Manager 1.11.0. I am at a loss and hoping someone here might be able to help me solve this. |

The MacBook Air with an M2 processor can only support one external display (more details under the 'Display Support' section here --> https://support.apple.com/en-us/111346, and this internal laptop limitation is most likely why you can only get one display to work at a time. For your reference, DisplayLink technology is a combination of hardware and software. If the hardware you are using does not have DisplayLink technology inside of it, then installing the DisplayLink Manager Application will not change the result. For your reference, DisplayLink has a list of all of the DisplayLink-based docking stations here --> https://www.synaptics.com/products/d...cking_stations |

Is the Macbook Air M2's inability to utilize two displays a downgrade from the previous model? As I mentioned, this worked with my last laptop. A similar setup functions in my office, albeit using a dock labeled "DisplayLink Plug and Display." This, combined with your advice, implies that I must purchase a DisplayLink dock (or hub?) in order for this to work, even though that may not have been the case with the older laptop...? |

If the office setup which appears to be using a DisplayLink-based product works as expected, then it confirms that you need a DisplayLink-based solution at home. |

Many thanks. I'll invest in a DisplayLink dock.
Does anyone have a recommendation (Macbook Air M2, dual external, extended displays) besides the very limited DisplayLink list? |
