I have struggled with this for a week now and even tried with three different DisplayLink USB hub devices, but I'm still having the same problem that DisplayLink software refuses to detect the hardware.
However, I'm still getting "Please connect your DisplayLink device" from the DisplayLink manager. Screenshots and Support Tool log here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folde..._J?usp=sharing |

This message is displayed until you connect a monitor to your product. I agree it is quite confusing as it doesn't consider your product is actually connected without monitors - we are going to modify it at some point.

I am not sure this is necessarily the answer. This had all been working fine for me until maybe a week or so ago.
Now I get this same error every time I restart the computer. Switching Displaylink device off and on does bring it back, but also disconnects drives and triggers other configuration issues. It turns out I had first installed Manager a day or two before the latest version was released and was not informed of an update being available, but installing that version instead has not fixed it either. I would very much like my glorious first month or so back... |
