Hi,
Can you check that you have both ends of the Y cable attached to your notebook? Thanks, James |

Yes I have tried with one cable and two cables, I do get an image on the monitor is just that it does not refresh at all, if I drag the mouse it just freezes then 1 minute and the image of the mouse pointer goes away. I have tried the same cable and monitor with a surface pro/macbook pro and it works...

Hi,
Sorry I forgot to mention that I'd raised this issue internally for further investigation (just got back from holiday). I'll let you know when I know more. Thanks, James |

Hi,
Apologies for the lack of an update. We've fixed this issue but need to prove it out before the fix is released. I'll let you know if there is a workaround in the meantime. Thanks, James |

Hi there -
I would also like to know about the fix and/or workaround. I'm using the Sony Vaio Pro 13 with the same AOC monitor and have the same issues. The monitor works fine on my old Dell Win XP laptop with USB 2.0. However, the Vaio Pro 13 only has USB 3.0 ports. I was able to get the monitor to display without flickering or freezing/refreshing by using a hub. The 3.0 portion of the Y cable is plugged into the 2.0 hub which is then plugged into a 3.0 port of the laptop. The 2.0 plug from the Y cable is plugged directly into the other 3.0 port of the laptop (the port that is capable of charging). At first glance, everything looks great. The menu bar and desktop look perfect. However, when I drag something from the laptop to the AOC monitor, the quality and aspect ratio are not maintained. Whatever I drag to the monitor appears grainy and the size of the window I moved over increases dramatically... if it only occupies 25% of my laptop screen, it expands to at least 75% of the screen when moved to the AOC monitor. My DisplayLink drivers are up to date. I hope this helps w/ your fix and possibly a workaround in the meantime! |
